Melissa has previously worked as a Counsellor for adults within a number of employed and charitable organisations, in a secondary school as a school-based Counsellor and as a university Well-being Practitioner offering counselling, mentoring and delivering courses to students. She has a number of years experience in the education sector developing and teaching vocational courses and also runs a secondary business designing and delivering psychoeducational programmes on mental health and wellbeing to education settings.

Melissa has a strong passion for nature and the outdoors and is happy to discuss ways nature can be incorporated into therapy to aid the therapeutic process as well as sessions being held outdoors.

Extract from Melissa

"I established Coastal Counselling and Therapeutic Services as I feel extremely passionate about empowering others to heal from past trauma or events that may have led them into a way of life that does not serve or fulfil them any longer.

We can reach a point in our lives where we recognise something is not quite right, we no longer feel fulfilled or perhaps we never have. We may feel out of control and have lost our sense of self.  We may feel this way for a whole variety of reasons or perhaps there may not even be a significant reason why at all. Recognising these feelings can sometimes feel extremely daunting and we can struggle to process what is happening or find the answers we need ourselves.

Connecting with a professional, be that in one-to-one counselling, attending a workshop or investing in a retreat can help us gain insight and understanding into our own challenges which will empower us to find solutions. Then we can start to create a life full of abundance, the life we all deserve.

I look forward to working with you and being a part of your self development journey".
